our company manufactures heighly non standard products. There would be 100 lines on average per order. How can this be handled in AX?

Dear Hammam,
The number of the lines is not an issue in AXAPTA.
According me the main question is the structure of BOM if you work with non-standard products (especially with multilevel BOM).
BR,
Anton Ivanov
Dear Mr. Ivanon.
I do understand that an order can have hundreds if not thousands of line item.
Before confirming any order, estimation should take place.
Now, since items in any order is totally non-standard, new item codes should be created for each item line so that estimation people would attach the initial estimated BOM that can be modified and finalized in the design stage after the customer confirms his order.
The task of creating hundreds of item in the system even before the order is confirmed is very time consuming and would be waste of effort if the order is not confirmed, in addition the inventory will be cluttered with unusable item codes.
Regarding the structure of the BOM, as of now our BOMs are not multileveled, but consist of hundreds of components.
