Private Notes for Companies / Vendors

We are in the process of converting from an older CRM system to Dynamics 365, but we have found one issue we are having trouble resolving. Our old CRM would allow individual users to make private notes for a specific contact/company/vendor that only that specific user could see (ONLY the user that made the note has access to it). For a given contact, we could have 3 or 4 users each with their own unique private notes, and we are hoping we can export them into Dynamics and keep them private. I have read some other posts on here that talk about similar needs, but I have not seen an answer that solves our problem. If we are not able to have private notes for EACH user, can we still have a note section on a specified account that is only view-able to a select user or group? We are trying to keep things as OOB as we can, but we are open to custom solutions if anyone has any ideas. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated, thank you for your time!

You can have a custom entity & design the security role to have user level create/read access.

Migrate the data & assign the right owners.
