Hello,

I am encountering this error when installting CRM 2016 on windows server 2008 enterprise.

"The update file is not valid for installation of this application."

where the update file is server_kb3121695_amd64_1033

    I think you've got 2 problems:

    1. CRM 2016 is not compatible with Windows 2008 Server - you need at least Windows 2012. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3124955/compatibility-with-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2016
    2. From the log, it looks like you're trying to install an update file, but you don't have CRM installed

    got the installer from this link www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    it also indicates there that windows server 2008 is ok.
