This supposed to be a new feature but I simply cant find anything on it or locate anything in NAV 2017 itself. I have read l have read all the blogs and looked on CustomerSource but simply can't find anything on this apart from the fact its a new feature.
Does anyone have any information or idea of what this means and how it will work. I am hoping it will solve an issue with setting up assets at time of purchase orders.

that looks like it, thanks
First Create a new fixed asset an fill out the Fields:
- Description,Subclass Code,Depreciation Book Code, Depreciation Starting Date and No. of Depreciation Years. After this you will get a notification an the Acquire Action on the Ribbon (Actions) will be switch to enable. See Screenshot below:
Best Regards
that looks like it should be what they are referring to but surely need to provide us with information because NAV 2017 is now released and it is advertised as a new feature
Hi,
Try exploring setup part...
Indeed it has not been yet described. I suppose it relates to the following improvement, aimed to speedup the process of creating and maintaining the fixed assets cards - in particular, a Fixed Asset Acquisition Wizard.
Please check page 5551. It runs a special wizard that allows you to streamline the process. Try it and write here your thoughts :-)
that is what i was hoping but cant see where you add these default setups
There are some small changes that made it easy to setup FA in NAV 2017. It’s now easier to set up with default setups (which you can modify) and you are able to register purchases of fixed assets through a special fixed asset G/L journal where you can also dispose of fixed assets.
Hi,
"Fixed Assets:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 makes it easier to set up fixed assets. In addition to standard setup you can register fixed assets as cards with complete information, accounting details, and reporting classification. Users can also register purchases of fixed assets through special fixed asset GL journals where you can also dispose of fixed assets with the right accounting details registered automatically."
