Open a CRM web resource in Outlook from an external application

Hi all

I have a client using the Outlook Client to access CRM. They've asked for a simple PABX integration, which I've written as a HTML web resource in CRM. The softphone attached to the PABX simply opens a web browser with the initial URL pointing at the web resource.

It's all working great using a web browser, but I can't figure out how get an external application (like this softphone) to open an Outlook CRM page pointing at the web resource? The options given to me are to launch an external application (in the same way as WindowsButton -> R) or a VBS script.

I did try the VBS, too, but I'm not entirely certain of how to do that either (managed to figure out how to open folders in Outlook, but nothing specific to CRM).

Can anyone help me?
