Send outgoing mails, without a mailbox

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to D365 and I've spent a while searching high and about. I haven't found my answer yet, so here I am :)

I've been able to set-up mailboxes incoming/outgoing, for our users. I've also been able to set up a queue to capture incoming mails and create new cases for them.

What I can't figure out, is how to set-up the following:

We have several workflows that doe simple checks and send an email if something happens. Eg.: When an account changes relationship type from A to B, someone is getting a notification by e-mail.

The sender in this case, should be a simple no-reply kind of address that doesn't have a mailbox, is used internally only and process any incoming mails.

How can I achieve this? The only way I see this possible, is by creating a user in O365, assign both a D365 ànd a O365 license. I don't want to waste both of those licenses just to have a no-reply sender.

Is there any other way I can achieve this?

Thank you.

if you have this no-reply kind of emailbox in exchange you can configure that as a queue and send email from that in your workflow.

i dont think it is possible to achieve this untill unless mailbox is not an actual mailbox.

    Hi Rawish,

Thanks for getting back to me.

So this essentially means that I will have to create a user in O365, make sure there's a mailbox for it ànd assign a D365 license, right?

    Hi IanJuv ,

today online crm could send and receive email only using a O365, GMail o Yahoo account.

If you have a few mail accounts, you could use a gmail/yahoo account with forwards to receive/send emails.

Otherwise, if you have some time to invest, you could develop a service or task which could act as broker, reading your mail and writing email entities, read new email entities and send it through you email account.

    Hope it helps.

Hey Franceso, thanks for your answer.

The organisation prefers not to use outside e-mail addresses and they would also want to avoid buying a single license for two products, just to be able to send mails.

I suppose this has become more or licensing question, than a technical question :)

I guess there's no way around it, than to assign a license.
