Error Sending Customer Statements

I get this error when trying to send statements to our customers. Email addresses have already been set up in customer layout. I get this same message on any customer account. Please assist.
 

The target email address has not been specified on the document layout for Customer: BAR032, Customer Statement. //Choose the Document Layouts action on the customer or vendor card to specify the email address.

    Does this customer have a Bill-to Account and the email is missing from here?  If possible sending a screenshot of the setup could help.
