Project Actual Hours, Progress, and Estimate

Hi all,

I have several questions related with Project Management module as below:

1. How to put start date, time, and end date, time in the hours journal? Because currently these fields are grey out. Is there any set up that I should do?

Project-Progress.png

2. Can I set project progress to be updated manually not from hours journal. For my client we need this because the project progress is based on physical progress not by time consumption. (like microsoft project)

Project-Estimate.png

3. In the project estimate, there is field activity number below the project ID. however this field is grey out, so I couldn't estimate project on each activity number. Can I make this field to be maintainable?

Really appreciate if anyone can share the resolution.

Thanks,

M.H.

I have solved the problem for no. 1

For actual start time and end time. the set up is in the journal names which assigned to hours journal. Time confirmation need to be checked.

For actual start date, and end date it should be set up in workers -> project management setup. Where in the schedule period should be selected (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or be-monthly).

So is there anyone know issue for no. 2 and 3?

    Thanks,

    M.H

    Hi Hasan,

    Hereby some thoughts...

2: This is not possible in the WBS. You need to customize it. Note that you can set a manual completed percentage when you do the fixed price or investment estimates.

3: This field becomes active if you set the Eliminate to to a project. Not that this is not about estimation based on activities. This is about posting the elimination after a full completion of the project.

    Hi Andre,

    Oke thanks for the confirmation.

So basically AX can only record actual progress based on hours journal right?.

And for manual completed percentage it is on the project level right? not activity level.

    Thanks,

    M.H

    Hi M.H.,

The activity progress is based on hours. The manual completed percentage is per estimation. The calculation of PoC for estimation is based on category level. Personally I would like to have an option on Activity level as well.

    Hi Andre,

    What is PoC?

And do you mean that estimation by activity level is possible?

Because currently I can only perform it on project level.

    Thanks,

    M.H.
