Calculating WIP using Percent of Completion of Job Total

We would like to use the Calculate WIP function in Business Central. We've set up the Job Posting Group accounts and selected Percent of Completion as our WIP Method. Unfortunately, when we Calculate WIP the recognized revenue is wrong. For the job shown below, the recognized revenue is $0 even though the 'percent complete' of the Job is not 0%.

It appears that this is because the WIP is being calculated per task line and then summed for the entire job. Therefore, task 060.00 is 0% complete and none of its billable amount is recognized while the tasks that do have a completion value have no billable total price, and therefore recognize no revenue.

Is there a way to make the WIP calculate on Job Totals rather than per task?

RE: Calculating WIP using Percent of Completion of Job Total

    Hi,

You described "We've set up the Job Posting Group accounts and selected Percent of Completion as our WIP Method."
But the screenshot tells us that the job task lines are set as "Sales Value" WIP Method.

Job card has a field "Job WIP Method" in Posting tab.

And each job task lines also have "JOB WIP Method". Once you have created the job and specified the WIP method on the job card, the WIP method on the job task line is blank.

And the WIP method of a job task line can have different values for each task line. Note: Change the WIP Total to "Total" before changing the WIP method.

Perhaps change the WIP method for all job task lines to POC, as shown in the figure below, or...

set WIP Total and WIP Method to blank and this job's WIP will be calculated by POC method.

I once did a job WIP survey with similar questions and posted blog.
