Attach Document to New Record via API

Posted on by 1,779

Hi,

We have a requirement to attach a document to a record created via the WebAPI.

In summary - new record created via WebAPI. On new record, we need Document Managment enabling (SharePoint) and we need a document attaching.

Is this possible?

I think it's a mix.. Gopalan probably got the idea covered (you do need to create a location etc to link that doc to crm), but there are details of course..

This is not possible via the CRM API.

You have to go through the SharePoint SDK (or REST) as what I had known.

    Refer to this: community.dynamics.com/.../205584

    Hi

    • You need to upload the document separately (example: using CSOM).

    • After that create a new Document Location record (with the regarding lookup value to the entity record, Relative URL and Parent Site or Location).

I am not sure about any other method to achieve this.
