Hi Team

Is it possible to find a transition guide or somewhere else, to show what the transition is, when we are going from NAV2018 NOT named users to Business Central Premium Cloud Named Users (I have heard it is 1:3), but it is not possible to find it anywhere.

Thanks from

Charlotte

Contact your Microsoft partner so they can arrange for this discount to be applied

    Hi Josh

It is not a discount I need it is an ongoing discussion how you transission your BREP (On Premises) license to Cloud (CSP) license.

Is the Ratio 1:3 or as the promotion 1:4 or is it named user no matter how many you have?

    Regards,

    Charlotte

    Hi Charlotte,

There are 2 programs that offer either a 1:3 or 1:4 transition.

    1) If you stick with On-Prem and you are paying your annual (usually) 16% BREP (Business ready enhancement plan) then you get 1:3 when you request your new license.

--> By the way - you MUST UPGRADE to BC 14 on-Prem to use the migration tools to move to the cloud

--> You don't get the 1:3 migration for the cloud if you migrate, you get 60% off normal cloud user prices instead.  You do get the 1:3 if you remain on-prem even if you are hosting in Azure or some other cloud location - you just have to pay separately for the hosting.

    2) If you take advantage of the COVID BREP 2 CSP program who's name I frankly don't remember - but allows you to switch from paying annually for BREP and instead to paying it monthly as cloud licenses - you get 1:4 transition for no more $ annually.

--> It is probably too late to do this.  If your BREP is due before July 31 you can still do it if you get right on it (you have until June 30).  If your BREP was already paid for this year, or is due after July 31 I think you missed the program end date. That said, Microsoft does renew these things sometimes.
