Portal KnowledgeBase articles Page not Found

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello there!

My Knowledge Articles are not showing as I enter its url.

I think I might have messed up with the web-templates. What are the things that I need to check first?

Also, does this page/viewing have something to do with "Embedded knowledge search" settings? Currently I have 2 active portals, CSS and ESS, so which of those two domain urls should I put there?

Thank you,

Rome

    Hi,

    May I know if you navigate to /knowledgebase, will it list down the parent categories?

    If yes, when you click on the category, will it list down the articles under this category?

    Currently when I click on the category with the path /knowledgebase/category/?id=CAT-XXXX, it will lead me to a blank page.

    Hello Arpit,

    This used to be working fine until we started customizing the portal.

    Regards,

    Hi Rome,

    As per my knowledge, currently there is no way to link the Knowledge Base with more than one Portal. Better to connect with Microsoft to get more information about the same.

    If my answer helped to resolve your issue, kindly verify it by clicking 'Yes'. It would be helpful to the other community members seeking to resolve a similar issue.

    Cheers

    Thank you for replying, Ravi.

    I have checked that article you attached, the question is we currently have 2 active site portals which are CSS and ESS. So which URL should I put there?

    CSS - xxxxxxcustomer.microsoftcrmportals.com/knowledgebase{kbnum}

    ESS - xxxxxxemployee.microsoftcrmportals.com/knowledgebase{kbnum}

    Maybe I have changed something from the templates but I checked and they are all the correct. The one you posted is the same with my Knowledge base - home

    BTW, I noticed that in this template we extended 'layout_1_column'. Is this the 'Layout 1 Column' that we have in Web Templates? If yes, how did the OOTB come up with the underscores when extending these files?

    Regards,

    Rome

    Hi Rome,

    Yes, you need to configuire the knowledge base in CRM as well and provide the URL of your portal where you want to display it.

    Check the below article?

    blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../linking-crm-portal-to-the-knowledge-base-in-crm

    Have you changed anything with respect to web template? Below is the OOB template used for the Knowledge base - home template. See if yours is similar?

    ================

    {% extends 'layout_1_column' %}

    {% block main %}

     {% include 'Page Copy' %}

     {% assign category_url = sitemarkers['Category'].url %}

     {% assign count = count | default: 0 %}

     {% assign categories = knowledge.categories | top_level: count | order_by: 'title' %}

     {% if categories %}

       <div class="list-group unstyled">

       {% for category in categories %}

         <a href="{{ category_url | add_query: 'id', category.categorynumber }}" class="list-group-item">

           {{ category.title }}

         </a>

       {% endfor %}

       </div>

     {% endif %}

    {% endblock %}

    ================

    Hope this helps.
