Solution import issue "msdynce_service"

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

Can anyone please shed some light onto a solution import issue we have just started experiencing. When trying to import the solution into a new environment we are receiving the following error message:

"Import of solution VSC failed. The following components are missing in your system and are not included in the solution. Import components and then try importing this solution again."

Display Name Name/Id Type Managed Solution Required by
Account (All Contacts) All Accounts View msdynce_Service (9.0.3.71) Account (All Contacts)
Contact (All Contacts) All Contacts View msdynce_Service (9.0.3.71) Contact (All Contacts)

The only reference we can find to "msdynce_service" is https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/web-api/msdynce_service?view=dynamics-ce-odata-9

But this provides no information on how to add this to your solution??

Has anyone else experienced this issue and can any you please provide any insight into how we resolve this issue??

Many thanks,

Steve.

    This is just my opinion.. I think there's no permanent solution on this. When you already replaced the GUIDs on your solution, the next time you want to import it to another environment, you don't have to change the GUIDs again UNLESS Microsoft updated the GUIDs again.

    I've tried creating two new trial environment and have successfully imported the solution with updated GUIDs to both without changing xmls.

    Great answer!  For anyone else who runs across this, there is a reference in both the customizations.xml and solution.xml files in the zipped solution file.

    Hi did you get an answer from Microsoft on a permanent solution for this?  we had the same issue and got solved by replacing the GUIDs as per your suggestion (thanks for that!) , but we don't want to update xmls every time the solution needs to be imported.

    Thanks

    Already fixed this issue. I tried deleting the views with old GUID in xml and updated it to new GUID.

    We just ran into the same issue.  It looks like the GUIDs for these 2 system views changed somewhere along the way.  As a workaround, I unzipped the solution and did a find/replace.  Afterwards, the solution import successfully.  Certainly not something we want to do every deployment, so I'm following up with Microsoft.

    For posterity, here are the new/old GUIDs (from our instances):
    All Accounts
    - Old: B18E750A-857B-49C5-8C4E-851EBC857E24
    - New: 65FFAF9A-E8C5-432D-860B-32F841B00D87
    All Contacts
    - Old: 3A3D00E4-AD90-4AA3-B9AB-1E4F82900D29
    - New: 0D5D377B-5E7C-47B5-BAB1-A5CB8B4AC105

    Also (side note) you can get the more details of the hidden solutions using fetchXML / XrmToolBox:

    <fetch version="1.0" output-format="xml-platform" mapping="logical" distinct="false" >
    <entity name="solution" />
    </fetch>

    We are having the same problem. Now after installing the customer service hub, we cannot access customizations any more. We get an entity doesn't exist error.  I have now reset the production environment and set the service hub to be installed with the reset.

    Hello. I am having the exact problem. I tried deleting the two dashboards on Account and Contact entity but still cannot import the solution. I noticed that I also have two All Accounts view which are both managed so i cannot delete the other view. Thank you.

    I did not have two views with same name but as the views were the cause of the problem,  I deleted both dashboards on account and contact and I can import solution without any error. Thanks for your quick response.

    Hi Rabi

    Not sure if you've been able to resolve this but were I found the problem to lie was in the Dashboards within the Contact and Accounts entity. There is a reference there to one of the streams (it's an Interactive Dashboard) and if you highlight the Dashboard and choose Show Dependencies, we found that under Required components we had the Views in questions being referenced from the Service solution.

    All we done was update the stream in the Dashboard to use the non Service solution view (there is no way to know which All Contacts or All Accounts is correct but if you have more than one available then choose the one that is not highlighted in the dropdown).

    Once you publish the Dashboard the other View is removed from Dependencies and you should be able to export/import after this...if the problem is in relation to the Dashboards. If it's not, can you post an image of the error received so we can see which area of your solution is throwing the error.

    Thanx

    Hi Steve,

    I am having same issue with import error. When you said, you removed the views, these are system views. Do we remove from the exported solution manually?
