I'm looking for a little guidance and hopefully some clarification with respect to the current GP integration landscape. We're interested in deploying a Time & Attendance solution (including shift scheduling and time-off management components). I've identified a number of vendors that I'm speaking with, but I would like to be armed with an better understanding off GP integration points.
In terms of context, we're in Canada and so are using Canadian Payroll and are currently on GP 2013 SP2 (pre R2). An upgrade to 2015 is planned and could happen before deploying the T&A solution; especially if it turns out to be required for whatever reason.
From what I've read on Terry's blog, Business Portal might have been worth looking into for its T&A functionality at one point, but not anymore. Worse still is that it won't be included in GP for Canada so I started looking into eConnect for backend integration. However, it seems that there is no Canadian Payroll support via eConnect either.
Have I pieced things together correctly? Is there really no supported way for developers/vendors to integrate with Canadian Payroll? If so, what would be the recommended 'safe' alternatives?
