Changing Fiscal Periods

Posted on by 1,495

My client is switching to a 4-4-5 year in FY 2014 going forward.  FY2013 is on a calendar year.  In FY 2013, they want to extend the 12th period out do January 4th, which would be 12/1/13 - 1/4/14.  FY 2014 will then start on 1/5/2014 and end on 1/3/2015.  My question is how can I change the 12th fiscal period in FY 2013?

Can I follow the steps in the KB to delete the SY40100 and SY40101 for JUST FY2013?  I would then enter the Start Date of 1/1/2013 and end date of 1/4/2014 and reconcile 2014.  OR, do I need to delete the entire contents of the SY40100 and SY40101 and recreate all periods, and reconcile?

Thanks!

Steve

Hi Spena you mean going to fiscal period directly or using PSTL

Thanks!  It was simple.  I was able to change the periods by changing the Start and End Date, updating the beginning date, and reconciling.  No problems.

If you still have issue with changing Fiscal period I would suggest you to try the same using PSTL.  In the past I used this to change the fiscal period and it worked fine for me.  After doing this you may run the reconcile for all the years.

If 2013 is still open, you can go into the fiscal year and change the start and end dates for the year and edit your periods as necessary.  Then just reconcile open year 2013.
