Report Writer format to Word Template format

Hi,

I've used modified report in Report Writer for Word Template. But I realized that some of my box is not appear in Word Template.

How to make sure that format in Report Writer are same in our Word Template?

Hi Aini Hashim

be sure that you modify the both boxes for first page and for the next by modify the both boxes

I only use assign 1 report in Template Maintenance.

Hi,

I believe the box is a graphic element and I do not think those translate over to the Word Template. Since the Word template works with tables, you would need to use the borders of the tables to outline things.

Aini Hashim,

Keep in mind that your modified report in Report Writer does not automatically transfer over to your Word Template. By saving the modified report to the .xml you make any additional fields available in Word as you create your new template. Look at your Report Writer report only as holding the building blocks for your Word Template. Then, set about creating your modified Word Template to suit your needs. Hi Mary,

How can I know in word template which section is which. This is because when I move a field even is not from field list (just a caption) it won't appear. For field from field list I know that it need to be in a correct section. That's why I need to know how to find section in word template.

Aini Hashim / Nurul . . .

We found it helpful to show the paragraph markings in Word. This makes it a little easier to see how Word has formatted the report. The templates use individual tables to organize the fields from each report section.

Notice in the screen shot below that the Page Header section contains the Captions from the table highlighted on the right. You can edit these captions right in Word so that each time you drag the caption onto your report it will appear in its edited from.
