IV year end closing, mark to remove discont items but still appear after the process

There are a few items have changed type = Discontinued, and those items are with zero QTY on hand & zero QTY available.

When doing the Inventory Closing with mark to remove Discontinued Items, then Process the closing.

After the IV closing has completed, but those items with Discontinued, are still appear (in Cards > Inventory > Items). Why is that so?

I also notice that those items are found in most Purchase Order (and those PO status is either Closed or Cancelled). Is this the reason for not being removed after IV end closing (with option to remove Discontinued Items) ?

Please advice and Many thanks in advance.

You have found most of the answer.  You must first purge all history of transactions against these items.  This includes not only open sales orders and purchase orders, but also historical records, adjustments, entries on stock counts, et cetera.

Finally I managed to find the reasons for those Discontinued items to be removed. It is because of those items are already :

    1. Used in Purchase Order and those PO documents have to be removed (Remove Completed PO) -- make sure PO status is Closed or Cancelled, including each and every Line Items status as Closed/Cancelled.

    2. Used in Stock Count Schedule. I need to delete the Stock Schedule ID.

Lastly, check mark to remove Discontinued Items when doing the Inventory Year End Closing process.
