How to dynamically change the name of out of the box excel export ?

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement to dynamically change the file name when exporting an Excel file. like if I am exporting the file for specific ledger the file should be named after ledger number dynamically.

How can I achieve this?

Hi,

Using the option Open in Excel is a generic framework supported on all forms where public data entities are recognized for the root table. It avoids duplicate file names with the current logic. I'm not sure if it will be possible to customize the file name, but what will happen if you use the function twice for the same journal? After you download the file, you can also store it in a location with the name you want to provide as a workaround.

Hi,

I agree with Andre.

Also, you mentioned "export", assuming you only need t export the data, not excel add-in as integration, for this case, you can achieve this by a custom export solution, we did this in past.

However making sure, you only talked about to export the data only, not updating afterwards in d365 back like excel add-in.
