What is Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail Commerce Data Exchange: Real-time Service

Dear All,

This is my first post in Microsoft Ax and today I started learning AX Retail , Coming across the concept of Retail Commerce Data Exchange: Real-time Service I am not getting any clear idea or about it features and purpose .
And before I make configuration I would like to know more about it.

Can any one please tell me what is the main purpose of it and it's feature in simple manner

There are certain transactions that require real time interaction with AX HQ or HQ. These transaction include issue and redemption of credit note, gift card issue and redemption, On hand (Inventory Lookup), Customer orders,loyalty redemption etc, Credit customer credit limit verification etc. The POS directly interacts with AX HQ (AOS) in real time and created/updated in real time stopping the misuse or making the information immediately available to other store users.
