CRM 4.0 Outlook Client error, VB32, Office 2007 SP1

Hi,
We have a problem with the Outlook client on all out Vista Business 32 machines.
A couple of seconds after you've gone offline and the sync has finished you
get a message that "An unknown error has occurred, please try again and if
the problem persists contact the system administrator"
The only way to get the client working again is to run the Diag util and set the client
online again alternative reconfigure the client.

On XP everything works as expected.

Any ideas?

     Hello Nils!

We have exactly the same problem in my organization. We're running Vista SP1 and Office 2007 SP1 (Norwegian languagepack). I also get the same message after I have opened Outlook  (offline) even though I have not clicked "Go Offline" before closing Outlook.

Using the diag util gives me the error message "CRM for Outlook was not initialized in offline mode, and can not be connected" (translated from norwegian...). After clicking "Fix Error" it works againg.

    Any solutions will be appreciated.

    Regards

Hi, Seems like our problem was related to the antivirus software for the clients, in our case NOD32 3.0 Business Edition: 1.       Uninstall Microsoft CRM client for Outlook2.       Uninstall the CRM instance of the SQL Server3.       Delete the CRM installation folder ie “%Program Files%\ Microsoft Dynamics CRM”4.       Uninstall Antivirus Software5.       Restart Computer6.       Install and Configure CRM client7.       Verify that everything works as expected8.       Install Antivirus software9.       Disable any Antivirus com-objects in Outlook

    Hi Nils -

I hope this fixed your error.  What is the name of  your anti-virus software package?  I want to take this information back to our test team to see if there is a way for us to automate this deployment path instead of making you go through this manual work-around.

     Thanks

Hi Bill, We still have problems with sync over PPTP VPN so it is not entirely solved.
It’s not possible to go online over the VPN. Running the DIAG util to force the client to go online works and then you can go offline over the VPN. When connecting the computer to the local LAN in the Office the client crashes with the same result explained above and you have to run the DIAG util again.
The MS support helped us out finding out the problem but has not yet come up with a resolution.
    MS case nr. SRZ080617000166
The package is ESET NOD32 3.0 Antivirus for Win XP/2000/2003/Vista 3.0.667http://www.eset.com/download/business.phpWe also have a case registered with ESET, Case #130151

Hi, I had exactly the same problem, the client uses ESET Smart Security. (WinXP, Office2003)

For me helped to repair the installation of offline outlook client. Now everything works fine.

Some days ago I was at my friend's birthday and saw there a lot of familiars and some friends. One of theirs told me about an interesting tool. He said he had had unpleasant problem, exacter some of his emails were corrupted. But he by chance entered the soft blog and observed there - how to view contacts in pst files. The tool performed his problems for seconds and free of charge as far as he remembered. I was amazed this story and tried the program. And it helped me out the my old damaged emails.
