I have a customer currently using Shift4.  They've increased their pricing so much that he wants to get out from under it.

Anybody have any recommendations on what to use that's not stand-alone or in need of a RR connector?

TIA!

Lots of options, Even ones without the gateway fees charged by companies like Smart Merchants.

Systems Solutions has one, Bridgepay has one(Bridgepay is what Smart Merchants uses and had it rebranded for their company)

    Hi,

If your customer is looking to move away from Shift4 and avoid using Retail Realm (RR) connectors, here are a few credit card processing options that integrate well with Dynamics 365 Business Central without requiring standalone setups:

    1. Authorize.Net

      • Offers direct integration via extensions or custom connectors.
      • Well-supported and widely used in SMB environments.
    2. PayPal Braintree

      • Provides flexible APIs and can be integrated with Business Central using Power Automate or custom extensions.
    3. Stripe

      • Popular and developer-friendly.
      • Can be integrated using third-party extensions or custom development.
    4. Square

      • Suitable for SMBs and offers APIs for integration.
      • May require light customization depending on your Business Central setup.
    5. Microsoft Payment Services (if available in your region)

      • Native integration with Dynamics 365, offering a seamless experience.

Make sure to evaluate each provider based on transaction fees, support, and compliance requirements. Let me know if you'd like help comparing these options or setting up an integration!

    Best regards,
    Daniele

Business Central doesn’t handle credit card processing natively, so you’ll need a 3rd-party extension. If you want to avoid Retail Realm/Shift4, options often used are ChargeLogic Payments, iPayments, or Versapay—all integrate directly with BC and don’t require RR.

It’s best to review each provider’s costs/features and work with your Microsoft partner to pick the right fit.
