How to change the unit cost in sales order?

Hi Community,

I have a requirement from a user.

The problem is in my item card the unit cost varies according to the purchase and average cost.

For example, this is my costing & posting item, usually the unit cost is $3000, but, I had a discount and bought 2 for $0, now changed for $1000.

This is my current average cost

If I want to buy more, my purchase order brings the unit cost to $3000, and that is ok

My inquiry is how can I bring in a sales order my unit cost $3000 and not the average cost $1000.

If Do you know how? I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Since you are using FIFO, when the Adjust Cost process runs it will apply the oldest cost to your sale.  So even though it shows $1000 on the line, the adjust cost process will change that to $3000 using value entries (either at the time of posting or whenever you have your Adjust Cost process set to run).

Run some test transactions in your Sandbox and ensure your Adjust Cost process is run after to see the results.

Ben is correct - essentially you don't have to do anything, as the system will take care of it for you. Your sales line will display the unit cost from the item card which is the average cost. But the adjust cost item entries routine the system runs will re-adjust this to the accurate costing based on your costing method which is FIFO.

Hi, just adding a Microsoft document that I thought would help understanding.

    Thanks.
