I read about it, but I am enable to understand it, and I can't understand the reason that why anyone who is in admin mode want to disable this feature.

Can someone enlighten me. What i read is pasted below

Background operations Select to disable all asynchronous operations (see Asynchronous service) such as workflows and synchronization with Exchange. Emails will not be sent and server-side synchronization for appointments, contacts, and tasks are disabled. Note: Administration mode must be enabled to disable background operations.

    Hi Partner

Here's a brief note which might help

    • Enable Administration Mode

Only users with the System Administrator or System Customizer role can sign in at this time.  This allows an admin to lock out end users and give them a chance to make customization changes without having end user signed into the system.

    • Disable Background Operations

Sometimes, even with no users signed into the system, asynchronous operations may result in your CRM application reaching out to an external service.  With this mode enabled, all asynchronous operations will be cancelled.  This includes workflows, sending email, Exchange sync, and Yammer

I believe this option we have to choose. It's not like that it is mandatory, right? Please let me know.  Thank you.

You will need to choose this option only when you do not want the normal users to access the system during the deployment or while the system is in maintenance (data migration, clean up, etc.)

What I am asking is that the option of "Disable background operation"  is optional i believe. I can turn it off /on as i wish. right?

Yes, the option of "Disable background operation" is optional.

In my experience, the Admin mode is on and the Background operations are disabled when we restore the environment from the backup.

It really helps when we restore the database from production into the training environment and disable the mailbox and all production-specific automation before we enable the background operations again.
