How to write in new products without opening up a new form?

Hi guys,

Previously within an order when we add a write in product I would simply press the + button and an empty record would appear in the products box and we would simply fill it in and save.

For some reason now when we press + it brings up a new form on a separate window where we fill in the details of the new product.

I've been making some changes to our dynamics so im guessing I messed this up somehow, is there any easy way to change it back so that we can write in new products from within the order form?

I hope this makes sense.

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi partner,

The default "ordre product inline edit view" does not support customizations.

As you can see in the scrrenshot, there is no save button for this view, "save as" will create another new view.

I've suggested an idea to Microsoft and I will notice your immediately if there is any news.

    Hi Leo,

Ah ok that makes sense, I created a custom view because the default one has many columns that are unnecessary for us.

So now I'm stuck where if I use the default view we will have all the unnecessary columns in the products section but I'll be able to write in new products in a new line. If I choose my customer view I will get rid of the unnecessary columns but won't be able to write in products on an new line.

Now, I know the default view is uncustomizable but I have to ask the question... is there any way to remove some columns from the view?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi partner,

    Thanks for your explanation.

This feature is only available in default view "Order Product Inline Edit View".

Please open your order form editor and check if you change the default view of the product subgrid.

If you choose any other attempt, you cannot edit directly in the line.

BTW, Dynamics 365 will not support the classic client in the future, and in the new UCI client, this feature will not be available any more.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

    Hi Leo,

    Thanks for your response.

I should have mentioned, we use the old style of Dynamics please screenshots attached.

So basically when we pressed + and then 'Write-in' an empty line would appear in the products section and we would manually fill it out on the order form. Instead now it opens up a different form on a new window.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Hi partner,

Do you mean you want to add product in order form with the product Quick Create Form like this one?

    pastedimage1573524198474v1.png

If so, Please check the following 2 points in your instance.

1.Make sure the Order Line entity supports the Quick Create feature.

Go to Advanced Settings->Custiomizations->Customize the System.

2.Make sure you have Quick Create form in Order Line entity.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,
