License Plate Labels Reprinting

(1) ShareShare

Hi - Hoping someone may be able to provide some insight or had a similar experience. Using D365 Finance and Operations and using the DRA to manage label printing.

We had a large quantity of old License Plate labels print out of one of our label printers. It was the correct printer based on the routing, but some of these labels were several months old. Users who reported the issue, were not actively working in the application or handheld, but this certainly could of been due to the actions of someone in another location.

Any background process that could have caused this?  Any action a user could take to make this happen? From what I have seen with the label reprints, it is done in very small quantities, typically 1 in our case, but maybe there is way to batch print many old labels at one time?

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think this is possible in standard out-of-the-box. Reprint labels will print one label at a time.

    Hi,

I fear it's not possible without code change. Only option to reprint labels is via mobile device "Reprint label" menu which only prints 1 label at a time.

@Sagar Suman - Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am only aware of the reprint option that will reprint 1 label at a time.

That is why we are confused what may have caused 100s of old labels to start printing out of one of our label printers. It appeared to happen randomly, but I am sure something was done within the application to cause this to happen. We are just trying to figure out what could cause this to happen. This caused quite a disruption to the business because no other labels could be printed to this printer until it completed printing all of these old labels.

Hopefully someone here has experienced something similar or knows what may have caused this to happen.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Either a signal was sent to the Document Routing Agent to print these Labels or the labels were never printed and kept in some sort of cache .

    To troubleshoot:
    1) I would go to the Document Routing status list page and see if I could isolate the event that would have printed the labels or the user.   **Note that there is a "Resend" button, so may be the print job was resent by someone had a "let me see what happens if..." moment, in which case you would see a "resend" in the message (see image below)

    2) If you have access to the Document Routing Agent, I would also look at the log and try to isolate the event using the timestamp and match it to the Document routing status list page.
