Hi,

We are using below on cloud

Microsoft Dynamics 365
(2022 release wave 1 enabled)

Server version: 9.2.22064.00196
Client version: 1.4.4429-2206.4

Recently there was a GEO maintenance performed by Microsoft which cause outage to our healthcare system which create downtime and impact our services to our patient.

Question:

-May I know if there's any website which we can check or even read any outcoming maintenance and possible what type of maintenance will be perform in future?

-Is there any setting/configuration where we can set as sys admin to get email notification on this as well ?

Appreciate any info and advise for this matter so that I can report any preventive action for this matter.

I have the same question (0)

    Hey Joshua!

On Microsoft365/O365 admin center, there's a section with "Health & Message Center".  Whenever infrastructure is receiving changes, there's a notification there.  For Dynamics 365 CRM, this is basically every weekend.  You can read more on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/manage/message-center?view=o365-worldwide about the message center.  You can also configure an email to be sent (weekly), by updating the preferences and adding 2 additional email addresses on the notifications.

Some of this functionality can be extended by using powerShell, as indicated on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-email-notifications.  This way, you can configure a couple recipientes for each environment, so they receive some of the notifications.

Finally, you can build your own notification system using the connectors on PowerAutomate/logicApps as indicated on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/Connectors/m365messagecenter/ or following the steps outlined on https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/dynamics365/it/2019/08/01/how-to-receive-message-center-messages-in-an-email/

    Best regards,

    Hi Daniel,

thanks for the explanation but I still don't see how it helps from the message center as I review back our outage happens on 16th Aug.

    thank s and regards,

    Joshua

When you go into admin.microsoft.com, on the left side you have an option to expand and see all nodes on the navigation. One of the nodes is "health" which displays all options on the Helath&Message center.  The first option shows if there's any active issue with any Microsoft Service (either affecting Dynamics, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, etc)

Under "Message Center" you have the option to check for any future update

The highlighted records show 4 deployments.  If you open each one of them, you'll notice they indicate when the update is going to take place (or if it was deployed due to an urgency, the impact it had)

Finally, if you want to generate a weekly report, on top you have a preferences link

This will take you to a new window where you can choose who should receive the notifications: beside the primary administrator, you have a box to add another 2 email addresses, as well as selecting a weekly digest of specific services.
