CRM 2011 setup failed - sql agent service not running on the server

Facing one issue while installing ms crm 2011 on one of the client server. Its giving an error "Sqlagent\instanceName,port number service is not running on the server ". We have checked the firewall settings and internal firewall is disabled. Sql agent service is running on clusterd server but not in db server. Anyone has idea how can resolve this issue.

    Hi Neelam,

    Can you please confirm if the ports are blocked on the CRM or the SQL server? Are there any other applications, that are using the same ports?

    If the ports are not being used or blocked, I suspect that the environmental check is not able to recognize the values that we being entered during the installation. Please use the below steps, if the port being used in the installation is free:

    Try adding the IgnoreChecks key to the MSCRM ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM]) registry to by pass the EDW check to continue with the installation.

    -Make sure that the DWORD value is “1”. Please make sure all of your other checks are passed before adding the IgnoreChecks key.

    Hi Vivekananda,

    This reg edit helps get past the system check screen and proceed with installation.  What is the impact of this, though?  Can the CRM application eventually recognize that SQL Agent is indeed running?
