Ribbon Workbench 2016 in On Premise

We have a solution with two entities.  We need to modify one of the button's on the entity.  We add the display rule using the Ribbon Workbench and click publish.  The publish never completes.  We have used IE, Chrome, XRMToolBox.  All hit the same point.

We even tried just opening up the solution and doing a publish.  That too never completed just showed "Import Solution".  We have waited hours.

Thoughts?

    Yes - same failure with XRMToolBox.

    Hi Diane,

    I have experienced this issue as well a few times. Sometimes caching, which didn't work and later started to work.

    The best quick alternative (temporary fix) that I was able to do is to copy the Xml from Ribbon Workbench.

    Then export your solution ONLY for the entity that you want to make the modifications to, and copy the RibbonDiffXml from Ribbon Workbench over your existing RibbonDiffXml section in your customizations.xml file. Re-import your solution with the changes.

    Aric - so when you say caching if we recycled the MS Dynamics server would that possibly clear this "cache"?

    Not necessarily. I could not pinpoint the cause of the issue when it occurred. I think restarting the server did not solve the problem. Are you experiencing this on multiple machines? It occurred to my on any machine. Don't remember what resolved it.

    OK. That pretty much means, it is not a client issue. Regardless if you decide to do the workaround, I would contact Scott Durow. We are not the only people who experienced this, so he should be aware of this issue. I will try and send him a message as well.

    Hi guys- can you send me the ribbon xml that you are trying to publish as well please - these issues are usually caused by something up with the server.
