Cannot close period Period when there are source documents remaining in D365FO

Hi,

I am getting this error "Cannot close period Period 10 when there are source documents remaining to be journalised with an accounting date within the period." when I try to close the period permanently.

The decision of business is to close the period permanently, so I tried to help them. There are no open/pending transactions for this particular period. This issue occurs in D365FO.

Has anyone experienced this issue in D365FO? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Ludwig,

Thanks for your response.

Both Sales orders and Purchase orders are not used for this specific company. Only Free text invoices in AR and expense invoices (through Pending invoices) in AP are used. And none of those invoices are open for this particular period.

Hello Bala,

Can you check whether you have some 'old' purchase and sales orders that have not fully been invoiced yet?

There are standard forms and reports for received/shipped items not yet invoiced in AR and AP.

Please check them to identify what might be stopping you from closing the periods.

Inventory module is not setup for this company. Only the financial modules are set up.

Hi Bala,

Can you check the inventory and closing form?

When you run the inventory close there is a first step that shows you your 'old' open PO's / SO's.

Review them to find out which one might be pending.
