Out of box reports are not generating data but some SSRS reports are working fine on Dynamic CRM 2016 on premises

Posted on by 242

Hi All  ,

I  am stuck  in a very strange issue with dynamics crm 2016 on- prim reports.

The issue is with the out of box reports ,  when we create any reports  using crm out of box reports wizard ,  reports gets created successfully but not returning any data.

on the other hand there are some reports  which were deployed by previous vendor are running perfectly fine.

There is only one service  account (network service)  used in report server configuration.

report server  and crm database are on same  server  (database cluster ).

when I navigate to report server and try to run any report from  there , when it ask for password data source it is not connecting with any user (I tried almost every admin).

which area I have to check ?

what could be reason for some ssrs reports are running but some are not running.

any possible way to fix this let me know if any other information is required.

thanks in advance

Hi David, thanks for  your response can you please guide me where can I check this data source connection.

There is no error in report when I am creating report ( using crm by default report creation wizard)

If the reports are throwing an error, then check the Reporting Services log files.

However, if they are not returning any data (but not throwing an error), then the most likely reason is that the report is using filtered views, but connecting as a non-CRM user. Check the properties of the data source in SSRS
