Service Module - Cost Integration to GL

Hi All

When using service orders to allocate items and resources, how does the system post the cost to GL? I can see costs in Service Ledger however nothing is posted to GL. For example if I use technician 1 cost rate $100 one hour then when the service order is posted as invoiced it should go to GL cost as $100.

Is the service order under 'Warranty'?

You can check whether there are warranty applied on the 'Service Item Worksheet'.

Out-of-the-box the cost of a resource is not posted to the GL when the resource is sold. This applies to items with the type inventory or service as well.

This is how the system operates by default: when resources or items categorized as inventory or service are sold across all modules—such as sales, projects, and service—the cost does not appear in the GL. This is why you're not seeing the cost reflected there. Only items with the type inventory will have a cost in the GL.
