Tracking Encrypted emails with CRM App (not Add-in)

Hi,

This is for On-premise D365 8.2.2.329.

When using the CRM for Outlook Add-in, you are able to track encrypted emails.  Obviously the content is blank, but the email can be tracked.  When using the Exchange App, however, the track button for encrypted emails is greyed out altogether.

Is there a way around this and is this the expected functionality?

Any info (or if you could point me to a resource on this) would be helpful, thanks!

Thanks for the reply, meenoo.  It does provide a tiny bit of info on the app functionality vs the add-in, but nothing useful to this very specific issue.

This is what the client is trying:

" If users encrypt first, then the button greys out. We instructed them to track it first, and then encrypt it. We thought that would work because it appears in Outlook like we tracked it but it never shows up in CRM.

We also tried these ideas. The first 3 did not work. The 4th one did work but it's a LOT of steps to do in order to push in an encrypted email. The 5th one works and is a few less steps:

(1)Track it and then save it email drafts. Grab it from drafts and then encrypt and send.

    (2) Don't track and just encrypt and send. Go into sent folder to track. It won't allow it as the Dyn 365 button is greyed out.

    (3) Encrypt and send email. Then open the sent email, remove the encryption, forward to themselves. The button is still greyed out. (It acts like it is encrypted even though the encryption was removed. )

    (4) After doing #3 above, they grab the forwarded email (that had the encryption removed), it now allows them to forward to themselves again and track it. This one pushes into CRM.

    (5) Prep and encrypt email to the client, don't send yet. Take a screen shot of the email and paste into a new email to yourself. Attach the same documents. Track the email to yourself."

Anybody have any better work-around ideas to get an encrypted email into CRM?
