AX 2012 Installation error

Hey there,

I have been trying to install AX for 2 weeks now. Initially, I selected EP and SSRS features but nothing went well, so I gave up everything and made up my mind to install the basic features (in the fig below), so that I can start working immediately and later on add in the remaining.

But, to my great misfortune, I always end up with this "Access to the registry key denied" error.

and my regedit looks something like this:

Under services I have the following:


and I have given full permissions to my Domain Account against the keys 'Original' and 'setupproperties'.

Tried many other different options, but nothing worked. Now, I am out of ideas.

    it seems you are not having required access to the system in which you are installing Dynamics.

    I suggest you should follow the Dynamics AX Installation guide for more details

    You can download the guide over here

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    in this pdf you have section

    Verify that you have the required permissions for installation

    this section basically explains what access permission you should have for successful installation.

    Please verify and update if this information is helpful to you.

    I see that you haven't select AOS in your screen shot. Is there an AOS available?

    Hmm,

    I never tried install AX2012 on Win7 (as your machine name suggest). But I read from other posts that it should work.

    - What kind of rights AMERICAS\Archana_Potharaju has?

    - Have you try turned off UAC?

    - Have you try "Run as Administrator" when starting the installer?

    Just want to let you know:

    Have you try turned off UAC? yes , I have pulled down the bar in the 'User Account Control Settings" , so it is completely off.

    - Have you try "Run as Administrator" when starting the installer?

    Yes, I ran the setup in ADMIN mode.

    is it Your are trying to install AOS on Win7?

    If please read Dynamics AX system requirement document, which says Dynamics AX Application object server is not supported on WIN 7

    Please confirm and verify accordingly

    I'm not sure if you are trying to install AOS on Win7 or not. If you are trying to install AOS on a Server OS then try to run the installer and ONLY select the AOS piece. Then once AOS is installed and started then run installer again to install client and etc.

    Hi Archie,

    You have mention that you tried EP already..so i suggest you that remove the component you have already installed by "Removing component features" in AX setup and try to install new one with Db as well as AOS..

    As Mr.Umesh said ,make sure you have all user privilege to install the software...

    please verify and update your findings..

    Please make sure you logged in as an administrator on machine where you are trying to Install AX.
