RMS HQ Manager: Style 401 - Data Upload Worksheets Fail to Run at Some Stores

Environment: RMS 2.0 w/Cumulative Update 5 Hardware: Dell R330 Server Server OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard POS Locations: 17 Approximately 10 out of 17 Stores will run and process Style 401 Worksheets successfully. The locations that fail may restart data upload after worksheets are recreated and set to run. However the uploads eventually stop. Because both IT Dept. and Retail use HQ Manager (I'm IT Director), it could be that we are conflicting. I state that because I have noticed on some of the "stopped" locations not all, the entry after the final style 401 worksheet is a style 250 Update Inventory - Items; and 251 Update Inventory Item - Prices. My connection times are 3 times per day at 3 hour intervals, and once at a 6 hour interval. Retail sends the 250 & 251 once per month. Thanks in advance. Willie

Looks like database issue. Have you tried to re-index your database? And when the sysnc stops, whats the error messages?

We have this same issue in Seattle Goodwill. We do not have CU5 installed and run most servers on 2008 or 2008R2.  We run our uploads twice in a 24 hour period. We have discovered some success with shrinking the databases, or compressing them. Shrinking the databases has made the twice daily downloads much faster and fit back into their timeframes. I have also going back looking at the client connections, when the 401's fail, that simply forcing the connection can sometimes run a "stuck" 401.  If you always recreate the 401's, they can stack and stack so you may also need to go back in to your HQ server and delete any old pending 401's and back date 1 single 401 and run that.

    Thanks!
