Move company from sandbox to production

Hello,

I plan on creating a company in the test/sandbox environment. The basic set-up/configuration (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets and cash/bank) would be completed, tested and made sure that it is working OK. Once done, I would like to move the company to Production (without any transaction data).

I understand there has to be done via data entities but it is not very clear what parameters/entities to select. I have other companies in the production environment so cannot simply replace the environment.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi,

So you're preparing a golden environment with prestine configuration and setup data only, check this out,

    Hello,

I have other companies in the production environment, as per my original post. Your suggestion does not work for me, unless I am missing something.

    Best regards,

You have ti figure out by yourself , what entities you need to export in order to get data  which you set up.  Moving company is not possible in your scenario as you have other companies exist.

Based on  the forms  you used for doing configuration , figured out the underlying datasources for those forms and search for out of the box entities. Once you know all the data entities , you can create a template which you can use to  export/import data.

You can refresh your dev environment with you production data, and then add the new company and do your set up and configuration. Once it's done, restore it back to your production.

Andrews suggestion would work only if you dont have transnational data in PROD in other companies.

Thank you for trying to help but it is strange that there is no straight forward solution.

How do large groups with dozens or hundreds of companies in the live environment manage this?

I can spend dozens of hours creating a company in the test environment and making sure that all of the interfaces, postings etc. work. How do I move it to the live environment easily? I cannot overwrite the live environment completely as there are other companies with data.

Surely, there must be another option to completely overwriting the production environment with the test or dev?

    Thank you.
