Hi Folks
I wonder if we can configure D365 on premise for mobile app access without IFD (Internet Facing Development). So the client requires us to configure mobile app access for their D365 on premise using their pre-configured VPN Tunnel. As of the documentation, ADFS & IFD are ones of the required configuration. We are challenged about the IFD since they prefer to use their own IFD and they mentioned that they have had AirWatch which they said that it can also be considered to be used instead of configuring IFD.
If that is possible, is there any reference to have a look at? I kind of wonder if the mobile app itself actually needs to get some resources through the public cloud therefore IFD is needed. Many thanks in advance.

Jonas
D365 CE On-Premise v9.0.x
Hello Jonas,
Per official documentation here: Set up Dynamics 365 for phones and Dynamics 365 for tablets | Microsoft Docs
IFD is needed.
For Dynamics 365 for phones and Dynamics 365 for tablets, Microsoft Dynamics 365 apps (on-premises) deployments require Internet-facing deployment (IFD) for users to access their data. If you have your Microsoft Dynamics 365 apps website available over the internet but it is not using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 apps IFD configuration, it is not supported. To verify that your on-premises deployment is configured for IFD, open Microsoft Dynamics 365 apps Deployment Manager on your Microsoft Dynamics 365 apps Server. The Authentication Summary section should show that both Claims-Based Authentication and Internet-facing deployment (IFD) are enabled. More information
Perhaps you may be able to get it to work with "Airwatch" but it would be completely unsupported and may not function as intended.
Thanks,
Tyson
