How to part capitalize a project

Hi all

We are new to D365 and Project accounting, and our process documents from implementation are incomplete..

We would like to "part capitalize" a project. We know that the project is complete, however there are some GRNI postings, where realistically we will be awaiting an invoice for some time.

We generate the estimate, which seems to default to 100% complete. When we go to eliminate, the process fails with the message "Open Committed Cost exists for project..."

Is what we are seeking to do achievable? We are unfamiliar with the various parameters in the estimate--> eliminate pages.

I'm sure it is not the case because we don't know how, but at the moment we are unable to capitalize a £m project, because of a £200 GRNI transaction.

Many thanks
