Outlook for CRM - Record is unavailable when trying to view email in CRM

Hi there

I have a CRM online installation, and I recently set up the mailboxes to use server side synchronisation.

I have now also installed Microsoft CRM for Outlook.

This appears to allow me to send a CRM email.

However when I send the email, then try to view it in CRM by selecting "View in CRM", I get an error that says the record is unavailable.

I also can't see any of the emails I have sent from outlook when inside my crm web browser.

How do I get this working?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I have completed all of the above steps.

The only difference is my synchronisation method is set to server side synchronisation, which I need to remain as that.

I can send emails from inside CRM and they work fine, the missing part of the puzzle is when I send a tracked email from outlook, using crm for outlook, it never synchronises back into my crm system.

I have found this article, and am going to install this update. It sounds like my problem

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Microsoft about this issue.  They are telling me that doing this is not supported.  If I have server side synchronisation configured, then sending crm emails through crm for outlook won't synchronise properly.
