warehouse stock | article for own consumption

Posted on by 397 User Group Leader

Hello community!

Does anyone know how to use stock article for own consumption or how th e process is normally done that I get items out of my warehouse without any customer-related document?

For example, in my warehouse are working gloves stored, which are only used by our own workers. So when the worker needs a new pair of gloves the stock should be decreased by one.

Or what if the article is broken and cannot be used anymore...

Thank you!

Tom

Hi, I agree with the two experts above, using Item journal is the most convenient.

Or you can adjust it in the Physical Journal during your regular inventory.

PS: This low-cost material, if you do not manage the quantity, can use the following Item Type to manage.

Non-Inventory: Typically, non-inventory items are physical things, such as bolts or pens, that a business consumes but does not want to fully track in inventory. For example, because they're low-cost items and are only used internally.

    Hope this info also helps.

    Thanks.

I normally suggest using negative adjustment on Item Journal. You can use Reason Code to mark them as internal use.

    Basically you have two options.

You can either post it through an Item journal as a negative adjustment or you can create a customer no. used for internal invoices and invoice them to "yourself".

Personally i prefer the item journal.

You can also define special posting groups for your internal items so you can have them cost posted to the correct G/L accounts.
