My client needs to change their FEIN number and have run a number of payrolls as well as paid various taxes. They know they have to reach out to the IRS to get credit for payments. But -The question is, does Dynamics GP 2010 store the FEIN number anywhere in the database other than in the company setup table? If so what tables so I can update them properly. The situation is that ABC company changed to an LLC and therefore had to get a new FEIN number; however they are being advised to use the original company's FEIN and name rather than the path they took which was to clone the old company after 2013 FYE processing and begin using the new company (new database, etc). They would like to change the name of the cloned company and replace the cloned company FEIN with the original. Thanks in advance for any info on this topic.

Hi Chrisp,
It's also in the Payroll Tax ID setup window. That is where I believe your Forms W-2 get the number. It's under the code FED. Forms 1099 get their number from the Tax Registration field in Company Setup.
Kind regards,
Leslie
As far as I know, it is only in company setup.
As far as should this be done, consult with a tax accountant!
