Variance analysis/reporting

Good day everyone.

We have recently implemented D365 into our manufacturing facility. It replaced a very un-user friendly old system that, despite being cumbersome and only downloading to wordpad, was bespoke and excellent at producing variance analysis reports (PPV, efficiency variance, overhead variance etc). Is there anything similar that i can use as a starting point in D365? Our implementation provider is having difficulty pointing us in the right direction as most of their clients seem to be service companies.

Thanks.

  • RE: Variance analysis/reporting

    Hi Craig,

Have you looked at the variance analysis statement?

This breaks variances into Direct materials, Direct manufacturing and Indirect.  There are a few parameters, so this might be a start.

    Regards

    Dolores

    Hi Craig,

There are a few reports about cost analysis in the Inquiries and reports sub menu of production control.

In addition, there is a Power BI pack available for Production performance. You can read the details here: Production performance Power BI content - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

PS: moved the question to the Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management forum.
