Hi,

When I open new form to create new vendor, I am getting error as:

"Default scope cannot be implicitly determined by the number sequence framework for the given datatype. Please provide scope information explicitly"

Note:

1. When I go to Number Sequences in module parameters, Number Sequences are not listed.

3. When I generate number sequence it is giving info as "Application already has required Number Sequence"

Please tell us what happened before you got into this problem. Is it a new installation, or did it work before and number sequences disappeared? Didn't you import data or modelstore from another environment?

I did deleted data of NumberSequenceDatatype table by exporting table. After that this problem occured.

So again I imported table with all data but still problem is there.

It is not fresh installation it is having all company configuration.

Is it possible to restore whole number sequences to default or previous?

That's the problem. By removing and reimporting data in NumberSequenceDatatype, you've broken references in the number sequence system.

To go back, restore your database from a backup.

Alternatively you can manually fix the data, i.e. update broken Rec ID references and who knows what else is broken.

You could also clean up number sequence tables before generating default ones again. But it may not be feasible if you already numbers generated from number sequences.

The restore from backup is the best solution, in my opinion.

If I delete all NumberSequenceScope, NumberSequenceReference and all tables which is prefixed with NumberSequence will it allow to run Number Sequence wizard to generate number sequence?

Probably. I can't be 100% sure without making an analysis.

Again, restoring your database is easier and safer.

I do agree with Martin. If you don't have transactions yet it might be attractive to rebuild all nimber sequences, but some sequences are internally used for e.g. global address book records and locations. You might get duplicate key exceptions if you rebuild from scratch. So it is recommended to use a backup database to restore the table contents.
