account based marketing example of trigger tiles

Hello everyone,

I am diving a bit into account based marketing and I am struggling with the usage of the trigger tiles in customer journey. On docs.microsoft.com I read

"For account-based journeys, trigger tiles can work based on contacts or on accounts.

  • Account-based trigger tiles treat accounts as a single unit, so they will always send all contacts from the same account down the same path (true or false).
  • Contact-based trigger tiles process contacts one at a time, so contacts from the same account are permitted to flow down different paths."

But I don't understand it practically as I don't see a use case/example that can explain the difference.

For the other tiles (such as activities or leads) I understand the difference, but not on the trigger tiles.

Is there anyone out there who has an easy step by step example where I can use this and where I can see the difference between the options "account based" and "contact based"?

Thanks a lot

I know the trigger tile is now the If/Then tile, but the new behaves the same as the old.

Is there anybody else here on the forum that can give me a practical example/use case of the if/then tile with account based marketing?

    Hi Nico,

As the tile you mentioned has been replaced by another tile, you can't get an example/use case about it.

    Hello,

Thanks again, but I know the "technical" side of things. I am looking for a real life practical example/use case of this.

    Hi,

I found the original documentation for this description you mentioned.

It is available for Trigger Tiles.

However, the If/then tile has replaced the Trigger tile.

And there is no such option (Based on Account/ Contact) in this tile, so this description should make no sense.

Thanks Nya for the reply, but this is the part that I understood.

I am looking for an example with I/then trigger tile. There you also have the option to choose between account/contact if it is account based, but I can't find a example/use case for that.

    Hi,

    Here is an example.

A contact (FF1 L) belongs to an account called Acc 01, which also has several other child contacts.

    pastedimage1645695137749v1.png

When the FF1 L is set as the audience of a customer journey,

    pastedimage1645695228187v2.pngpastedimage1645695247019v3.png

and the journey is set as account-based,

    pastedimage1645695269378v4.png

add a create lead tile into the journey and set it as "create for each account".

    pastedimage1645695877206v7.png

Leads will be created for the account Acc 01.

If it is not account-based journey, the option will not be shown.
