Formatting goes beserk in a workflow generated email

I use workflows to create emails. I have been doing it for some time. However I have just tried to edit one of the emails. I have deactivated the workflow, gone to the send email step and to set properties. I can then edit the email with no problems.

However when I save it and re-open it the formatting has changed with lots of extra blank lines. Also sometimes what looks like many blank lines is only one and other line spacings are different.

Anybody have any ideas what is going on and how to fix it?

What browser and version are you using? If it's not IE, try it again in IE.

Sometimes, copying the text from say MS Word to the email can break the formatting.

Thanks for your help, it gave me an idea. I copied the email text into Word and could see where the rogue formatting was. However no matter how I tried in the email I could not remove it. In the end I gave up and just re-did the email from scratch.
