Standard Cost Rollup - Pending Cost From CT00003 Will Not Roll To ICIV0323

Using 2013 with Manufacturing. When performing a Rollup we found that some items with current pending costs loaded in table CT00003 did not transfer/roll those values to table ICIV0323. Other items rolled without any issue.

The Pending Cost Effective dates are later than the current Std Cost effective dates.

It seems there is some magic and voodoo at work with the Standard Cost Roll and Revalue process which makes this a bit challenging to troubleshoot.

Any and all ideas welcome.

Hi Dan, I appear to be having the issue listed above.  Do you happen to still have the scripts?  I have 147 manufactured items and approximately 100 of them will not recognize any changes to boms or routings  and will not roll cost.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Dan. I did rebuild the tables. After a long road and Microsoft support it was determined our problem was due to a bug in a background procedure.

The conditions for the bug to surface centers on SuperBoms. If you have a Buy item on a SuperBom, but not on any other BOM, and you update cost, perform a Roll & Revalue everything is fine. However, the next time you change the Pending cost and Roll, the new cost will not roll to the ICIV0323 table.

Therefore the new pending cost will not update the Buy item Standard Cost.

MS is treating the fix as an update/patch to be released sometime in future. Until then the work around is to ensure all Buy items on a SuperBom are also placed on the MFG BOM of the specific item.

Are the items components?    Or items with a BOM?   Do the items also get purchased (i.e., Make or Buy)?   In this case, the rollup looks at that setting and rolls appropriately.  If buy will not roll up the BOM, and if make will look at pending value).

If you have validated the above and still stumped, I have had customers with issues and cannot find out what happened.    In that case, I have found it faster to rebuild the std cost tables.   Rebuild the CT0003 and ICIV0323 tables.   Email me and I can send the scripts to you.  I have 2 for each table.  1 set does it by single item and the other set does the entire table (erases all pending costs).   These set the tables to be 0's in the std cost so it is like the item was just added.
