Hello Everyone,

We have a strange request from one Client as Following.
  • They have two independent and different Finance and Operations D365 Instances with separate Legal Entity.
  • The Client wishes to move one Legal Entity with Data without any other customisation into one Instance.
Is there any way to move/merge the two independent system into one?

Thanks Everyone,
Nisarg

    Hi,

I dont think so, its a very strange or unusual case, lets put it that way.

Nevertheless, you cant move a legal entity, since the tables usually have all data of all legal entities. Only in the application itself the data is filtered by the current legal entity.

The only way I see, is to do a classic data migration. It should be relatively easy as the systems are the same apart from custom fields.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi Adis,

    Thank you for the Reply,

is there any better approach to transfer the Data to new D365 F&O?

If, we can suggest for the manual transfer the data from one system to other is only approach left for the transfer.

    Regards,
    Nisarg

    Hi Nisarg,

There is no functional support to move or merge only one legal entity into another environment. For configuration, and master data you can use data entities. There is no option to copy transactions directly. You can only create open orders and journals that should be posted after the import. This will then create new transactions.
