MRConfigurationConsole.exe - Assert Failure

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am trying to install Management Report 2012 CU16 server component on Windows server 2016 with SQL 2016.

I get Assert Failure with this error:

Expression: [mcrcorlib recursive resource lookup bug]

I also get the same error when I uninstall the package.

Does anyone know if the MR 2012 CU16 compatible with Windows server 2016?

Ron

Still same problem after changing the system short date  format to MM/dd/yyyy.

Yes, set to date format to mm/dd/yyyy, reboot server and reinstall Management Reporter.

    Hi Ron Koenderink

The system date format must be setup as mm/dd/yyyy? My server machine format is yyyy/mm/dd now.

It has been while.  As I recall I had setup the server as Canada machine so it was Canada format, so probably yyyy/mm/dd.

As a general rule, Dynamics GP/Management Reporter does not like not being the US Date format.

I changed the short date format mm/dd/yyyy, reboot the server and reinstalled the Management Reporter.

I would changing to US date format see if that fixes your problem.

I raised a ticket Microsoft and they looked at the problem and could not figure out the problem.  As they were experimenting with Locales/Region the problem went away and has not recurred.
