How to do a Mail Merge in Dynamics CRM 2013

I know that the Mail Merge functionality has changed in CRM 2013 however I haven't been able to figure out how to do a Mail Merge in the new version.

As an example lets say I want to send a Word document to a group of accounts. How do I do this?

The button is hidden - take a look at this blog post by Scott Durow, it walks through using Ribbon Workbench to unhide the button.

How to restore a hidden button on the CRM 2013 Command Bar

Thanks however this worries me. Mail Merge seems like a significant bit of functionality to hide.

I have to roll this out to a significant amount of clients (luckily they do share a solution) this is would seem to be a big issue for companies with a large client base.

If I'm not mistaken someone mentioned that mail merge was removed because it was a non-essential and should be accessed directly from Microsoft Word. I'm not sure why a user should leave the record, open Microsoft Word, locate the record again to do a mail merge.

Apart from Scott's solution, is there another way to do a mail merge directly from the web browser?

So it appears that the Mail Merge functionality still exists in Dynamics CRM 2013.

It is restricted to creating Mail Merge's from Marketing Lists.

    I've written about it here.

As i've only just discovered this I need to investigate more to see if there is something i'm missing.

I haven't tried this but will today.  I use Mail Merge in numerous installations.  When did they ask to see if it was or was not used

Does anyone know if Microsoft will bring the function back on the menu? It was pivotal to our organisation. I'm not sure why they would remove this.

I have modified the Suggested Answer to this question as there appears to be confusion. (Sorry probably my fault!)

Mail Merge IS available. You just need to do a mail merge on a marketing list.

This is probably a worthwhile change as it puts some control around Mail Merges.

It is still there in the ribbon on an Advanced Find of both Account and Contacts - didn't look any further   -  you don't have to create a Mailing List

    Excellent.

Probably should have checked there! :-(

It's always been available on Advanced Find
