Project Budgeting's Budget Revision Maintenance

I have a client that uses the Import from an File button import Budget Revisions into this screen.  However, the user that updated the Excel file added an extra digit to a new task that was added to the Budget that was longer than the Flex Key defined for the Task field.  I would have though the import would have failed when trying to import this task.  However, it did not and caused issues within their system due to the fact that they could not see the additional digit in any of the screens, but yet it was in the database.

Is there a hot fix for this or a quick fix to keep this from happening?
