Cannot find prvReadSyncError permission in CRM 2016

Hi, one of our Customers have Dynamics CRM 2016 OnPremise. One of their users, who is not a System Admin, while performing an Administrative operation, got a message claiming the prvReadSyncError is needed. Checking the Security role UI to privilege mapping page maintained by Microsoft at the link https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh547441.aspx, I found that permission should be located in the Security role, under the Core Records tab. However, it is not there. I checked other CRM 2016 and Dynamics 365 instances and it is indeed there but in our customer instance simply the mentioned row is not available in the security rol.

I would appreciate any help trying to understand the reason for this and how can I grant such permission in my customer CRM instance.

Xavier

    Hi Xavier,

the privilege is present either in 2016 OP and 365 Cloud.

Hi Francesco, thanks for your answer. I can see it in other instances too, but my customer cannot find it in yours. It is really weird.

Does your customer have CRM configured as an app by any chance, or are they running it as the full instance?

Can you also check under System Settings in the Email tab, what processing mode is set up under the Configure email processing header. Is it Server Side Sync or Email Router?

Hi Aric, thanks for your time. They are using the full instance and the Server Side Sync is configured in the Email tab.

Update: I double checked the security role UI but the row related to that permission was indeed not there. So, I open XRMToolbox and with the help of the "Role Updater" plugin I was able to assign the requested permission to the role. Although at the end I was able to solve the user problem, I am still wondering why the permission was not listed at the UI?

Anyway, I hope this helps somebody.
